Bringing the Community Together
Once the hub of the local dairying industry, this beautifully restored industrial building will once again bring the community together as a multipurpose venue.
Boasting original features of exposed steel beams and a gabled roof with trusses, combining its history with fresh, modern and luxurious touches. The Co-Op is a much-needed versatile venue which can be transformed into a stunning wedding venue, live music haven, a beautiful backdrop for filming and photo shoots and a space to gather for business and pleasure.
EST. 1888
In the 1870s, a butter wagon was sent from Kiama to Foxground, through Gerringong to then be transported to Sydney by steamer. As production increased, a central depot was needed in the region.
The original Gerringong Co-Operative factory first commenced its operation on 3 September 1888. In 2004, the co-operative was renamed to Dairy Farmers Limited (DFL) which had 1,423 farms producing 1.2 billion litres of milk. Gerringong Co-operative Dairy Society became the oldest continually operating dairy co-operative in Australia until it finished in 2007.
